The Answer You have Been Waiting For : Its a ....

YES YES YES .......
it was based on the above Scan, that the Sonnographer
declared on that afternoon ... Its a Girl!
We had so many feedback from so many of you. Some of you were looking
at the other Scan (which had Four Parts) to determine the sex of the baby
... which by the way that was a Scan of the baby's Heart! :)
Praise God for the news. Pray with us for a healthy and safe delivery.
Baby's delivery is expected late February - early March 2007.

Inside the Womb at 25 Weeks
The baby now weighs nearly 1.5 pounds / 660 grams and is approximately 13.5 inches/ 35 centimetres long from crown to heel. She makes breathing movements but has no air in her lungs yet. At 26 weeks, fetal brain scans show response to touch. If you shine a light on the mother's abdomen, your baby will turn her head, which according to researchers, means her optic nerve is working.

Take A Guess? Is it a Boy or Girl?

Tiffany recently went for her detailed scan of the 24 weeks old baby. It was an Ultrasound scan using a 2D Siemens Scanner. Its something new (for me at least) that the scanning was done by a Sonnographer (Li Anne) and not the doctor.

We are pleased to report that the Detailed Scan saw that the baby is doing well, we saw the legs, the hands, the brain, the face, the organs - heart, kidney, and many more (it was a Form 5 Biology revision, cos Li Anne was calling all the parts by the scientific names ... ie .. that's the humerus, and that's the femur .. and i can't recall the rest!)

So Praise God that the baby is doing well, and nurturing well in Tiff's womb. Praise GOD!

She also managed to tell us the sex of the baby, via the scan.

Li Anne, took a bit of time showing a cross section
of the Heart on the above scan, cos the baby was moving lots!

It was on this Scan above, that Li Anne told us the sex of the baby.
So for all you Sonnographers wannabe, check out the Scan Above, and let us
know what YOU think?

Is the baby a Boy? or a Girl? :)

Move Your Hips

Nathanael's leg muscles are improving with strength from the various therapies and whilst standing on the Standing Frame.

One of the new exercises that we are working with him now is that he will lift his Hips up, and we hold on to his feet.

Fits Diary - October Update! Praise GOD for the good news!

God is so good!

Its amazing and termendous change, after tracking countless number of seizures that Nathanael had experienced since February 2005, and on his 16th day of the Ketogenic Diet, we stopped seeing any physical seizures in Nathanael.

Its really All Glory To God for that amazing change in Nathanael's life.

If we were to count all the seizures that has been recorded, we see a total of 22,629 seizures in a period of 21 months of 1,078 seizures in a month or an average of 36 seizures a day!!!

Poor Nathanael, having gone through so much in the first two years of his life on earth. Rejoice with us as we expect new changes and exciting things to start happening in Nathanael's life.

We are now working on his muscle tone and his gross and fine motor development via therapy sessions and exercises. Continue to pray for Nathanel, that he will pick up and learn quickly.

What a Blessing! We have recently gone to re-do his EEG (ElectroEncephaloGram) on 6 October, and we hope to see the intepretation of the EEG report soon, and we will share with you on the results.

Nathanael Sitting Up on his Own

I guess without realizing many parents do take it for granted that their child will and can learn to sit on their own.

For Nathanael, sitting up on his own is a Great Achievement and we celebrate with him as he makes progressive steps daily in overcoming his global development delays.

Here are some really fantastic pictures of Nathanael sitting up as part of his daily exercise and therapy to strengthen his lower torso muscles.

Tiff is 23 Weeks OR 5 Months 3 Weeks Pregnant

Update from inside the Womb

Your baby now weighs a little over one pound/ 500 grams and measures about 11.4 inches/ 29 centimetres from crown to heel.

Her hearing is well established and she can make out a distorted version of your voice, the beating of your heart and your stomach rumblings. Loud noises often heard in utero, such as the barking of a dog next door or the roar of a vacuum cleaner, probably won't bother your child when she hears them outside the womb.

Numerous studies seem to indicate that the unborn prefer classical music, especially Vivaldi. Play The Four Seasons for your child and pay attention to her movements. Does she quieten down during adagio sections and speed up for the allegro portions? You may have a budding conductor in your womb.

In addition to advances in your baby's hearing, her lungs are developing to prepare for breathing. She's swallowing but usually won't pass stool until after birth.

If your baby were to be born now, she would have a good chance of survival (about 85 per cent) with the right care. Advances in science and technology now mean that a 24-week-old baby can grow outside the womb if necessary.
