Nathanael's Five Days of Fever

Poor Nathanael. After coming out of HKL for the Ketogenic Diet. On the final night in HKL, his body felt warm.

When we reported it to the doctors the next day, they said he most probably caught an infection, and gave us some paracetamol.

Unfortunately, the fever persisted despite us giving him Paracetamol every 4 hourly.

The fever kept going on at about 37 and 38 degrees celcius for the five days continuous. (26 Sep to 30 Sep)

Meanwhile, on Thursday we asked Dr Yi-Ki to help get us some Suppository (which is the Paracetamol but goes thru the rectum), and she gave us some which we administered to Nathanael on Friday night. [Normally when a Suppository is given, most often the fever would come down, but again that didnt work on Nathanael]

By the fifth day, we were concerned and whilst I was at work on Sat, Tiff and her parents brought Nathanael to his pediatrician, Datin Dr Vasantha at Damansara Specialist Centre.
She's one cool doctor who really cares for Nathanael.

Anyway they took some blood tests and urine tests. And asked us to call her on Sunday to see how is the progress of his fever. His blood test showed Negative for Dengue (that's one of the initial tests that one takes when you have a few days of fever continually), and in the report it also showed that his Blood Platelet count & White Blood Cell Count was low.

On Saturday just 2 mins before Sunita took over the Saturday Service for pre service prayer. I asked the Worship Team to remember Nathanael in prayer, and to pray that his fever of five days to come down. Thank you all for praying along.

Cos on Sunday morning at 1am. His fever just came down. And it has been down since then! Praise God for His touch on Nathanael's life.

Dr Vasantha was cool. Since Nathanael's fever came down, we thot we shoudln't kacau (disturb) Dr Vasantha on a Sunday. But guess what? She called to find out his progress! That's one really Kind & Caring doctor. So we updated her that Nathanael was doing much better.
[Thankfully, his fever decreased, otherwise, Nathanael would have to go to Hospital again to do further tests on the Fever... and that was one thing we didn't want to see happen].

We thank you all for praying for Nathanael. And we Praise GOD that He moves mountains, and brought the fever down! YAY!!!

We also found out that both Elijah & Noah (Nathanael's cousins) were also not feeling well these few days. And that they were also having fever. Tawnya gave some good suggestions. That's why on the pic above, you see a preety much half naked Nathanael on some water pillow, which is cool, and we had a wet towel on his back, to help regulate the temperature. :)
Oh yes the cool HeadBand... well that was to hold his Fever Patch up, he keeps pulling off the Fever Patches that we put on his forehead. So the HeadBand (Which is a cap) was used to hold it in place! :)

p/s Some of you were asking if the fever was something to do with the Ketogenic Diet. The answer is no. The fever came because Nathanael most probably got a viral infection while he was in the Hospital. Perhaps he caught it from me.... cos poor Nathanael is coughing slightly now. So keep praying for him.

Glad that Nathanael has recovered from his fever. A lot of kids been having this 5-day high fever bout. Must be some virus going around. Joshua had it just last month, another kid in my cell had it too...
